In this section, you can find EMF (electromagnetic) radiation protection fabric — also known as Faraday cloth or Faraday cage fabric — to shield your windows, sleeping environment, floor, and body. These fabrics are made using materials that can block EMF, such as silver and copper, formed into a fine conductive mesh material. Our range of own-brand electromagnetic shielding fabrics has been in development for many years, tried and tested by us and the hundreds of clients we serve. We also stock trusted third-party brands, including Swiss Shield®, to meet a wider range of needs.
Once you’ve established the type of EMF you need to shield from, you can choose the best fabric to suit your needs — for clothing, windows, curtains, bed linen and canopies, or floors. Different fabrics trade off breathability, transparency, and shielding strength differently, so the right choice depends on where and how you’re using it. BlocCopper and BlocWiFi both trade breathability for maximum shielding strength — ideal when the fabric is lining a floor, wall, or window rather than touching skin. BlocCotton, BlocSilver, and FlexiBloc are built to be worn or slept under, so breathability and comfort matter more than squeezing out the last few dB of shielding.
Both are strong, non-breathable shielding fabrics. BlocCopper is copper and polyester, best for grounding and underfloor use. BlocWiFi adds nickel to the mix and is our most effective fabric overall — best for windows and opaque blocking where breathability isn’t needed.
Most of our fabrics can — BlocCotton, BlocSilver, and the Swiss Shield range are all washable (up to 40 washes for BlocSilver and Swiss Shield). BlocWiFi and any fabric used underneath a bed or canopy should not be washed, as this can affect its shielding properties — spot clean instead.
FlexiBloc is designed specifically for making your own EMF garments, thanks to its stretch. BlocCotton and BlocSilver are also breathable enough for wearable projects.
Yes — the metal-content fabrics (BlocCopper, BlocWiFi, and the silver/copper-based fabrics) block RFID signals as well as WiFi and mobile signals, making them suitable for lining wallets and pockets against RFID scanning.
