Description

By installing dirty electricity filters in your home, you can significantly reduce the amount of dirty electricity, and therefore reduce your exposure to EMF radiation. An EMF filter could bring you health and also potentially in some cases lower your electricity bill.

Easy install

Just plug the EMF filter into a mains socket and it will get to work reducing the dirty electricity in your home.

What is Dirty Electricity?

Dirty electricity is an anomaly caused by high-voltage surges traveling along standard wiring that only has a capacity of 50/60 Hz. Also known as line noise or electrical noise, it is an increasing source of pollution in the environment today. You can read more about dirty electricity here.

Technical detail

The dirty electricity filters contain electrical capacitors that can shorten the high frequency on your electrical circuit.

The unit contains a 10 microfarad AC mains-voltage-rated capacitor, discharging resistor, and fuse. Unlike some DE filters on the market, ours contain an electric-field screen inside the case, which is connected to the Earth pin. Some filters on the market are not even internally fused. Our DE2 units are fully approved by European safety standards.

How many filters do I need?

Please see the info below and/or our video called Dirty Electricity Filters: How Many Do I Need And Where Do I Put Them?

The answer to this common question is: every home and room is different and will require a different number.

For example, in Glynn and Esther’s home, they switch all the power off at night (if you think that sounds crazy, give it a try – you may well be amazed at how good you feel when you wake up). But because they do this, there is no need for dirty electricity filters in their bedrooms. However, they have four offices in their home, each requiring a minimum of four filters. They also have four in the lounge, two in the dining room, and four in the kitchen, but none in the bathrooms.

How to work out how many filters you need:

Work on approximately two filters per frequently-used room plus a couple extra for offices and sitting rooms, and none for bathrooms.

(Once you test with the monitor, you will know if you need more filters or fewer. At that point, you can order more or return any extras you don’t need. See our Returns Policy.)

To test the levels of D.E., you will need a dirty electricity line or noise monitor, which you can buy or rent from us.

When the monitor and filters arrive, follow the enclosed instructions, plug the monitor in and then the filters until the monitor displays a figure that falls within recommended healthy levels in the instructions.

Where can I learn more about dirty electricity and its affects on health?

We have a great blog post about DE, which you can find here.

What is dirty electricity?

Dirty electricity (DE), also known as dirty mains, dirty power or electrical pollution, is a term that describes the problem of electromagnetic noise being on the mains wiring of a house when it isn’t supposed to be. Basically, your electrical supply is supposed to have just a 50 Hz sine wave on it, but this is rarely the case. There are almost always significant second and third harmonics (100 Hz and 150 Hz in Europe, 120 Hz and 180 Hz in the USA), but these are not thought to be any more harmful than the pure sine wave.

What are the effects of dirty electricity on my appliances?

DE typically interferes with the optimum functioning of electronic appliances, creating a phenomenon known as power-line electromagnetic interference (EMI). Today, as electrical appliances draw power from the main building wiring, it not only gets the standard electricity as initial input but also receives erratic surges and spikes of energy. When this happens, many electric appliances malfunction because they are not equipped to handle this DE.
